Recycled Notebooks & Eco Journals

324 products · minimums from 100 · 5–12 business days

Notebooks are the most-given corporate gift and the one where the eco claim is easiest to verify, because paper has the oldest and best-established certification system in the business. FSC chain-of-custody codes can be checked against a public database — you can personally confirm the claim in about a minute, which is not true of anything else in this catalogue.

Worth knowing about the material choices:

  • Recycled paper — post- consumer content, usually a slightly warmer off-white stock. Ask for the percentage; "contains recycled content" can mean 10%.
  • Stone paper — calcium carbonate bound with resin. No trees, no water, no bleach, and waterproof. It is not biodegradable in any useful timeframe, so read it as a manufacturing-input improvement rather than an end-of-life one.
  • Cork covers — regenerative material, distinctive texture, takes laser engraving cleanly.
  • Seed paper covers and bookmarks — plantable, and the strongest visual eco statement in stationery.

Minimum is around 100 pieces, production 5–12 business days. Rush production is available on many items in this range.

Frequently asked questions

What does FSC certified mean on a notebook?
That the paper is traceable through a certified chain of custody back to responsibly managed forest. FSC 100% is entirely certified forest, FSC Recycled is reclaimed fibre, FSC Mix is a controlled blend. The code printed on the product can be checked against the FSC public database.
Is stone paper better than recycled paper?
Different trade-off, not strictly better. Stone paper uses no trees, no water and no bleach in manufacture and is waterproof and tear-resistant. It does not biodegrade usefully and is not accepted by normal paper recycling. Recycled paper has a weaker manufacturing story and a much better end-of-life one.
Can recycled notebooks be foil stamped or debossed?
Yes. Deboss suits kraft, cork and recycled board especially well because the texture takes the impression cleanly. Foil works but can look inconsistent on heavily textured recycled stock — ask for a physical sample if the finish matters.
