rPET is polyester made from post-consumer plastic — usually drink bottles, sorted, flaked, melted and spun back into fibre. It performs identically to virgin polyester at the same specification, which is why it has quietly become the default fabric across most of the promotional bag and apparel range without anyone noticing a difference in the product.
It is the strongest and most common eco claim in this catalogue, and the one most worth verifying. "Made from recycled bottles" with no number attached could mean 10% recycled content in a trim panel. Ask for the percentage, and for anything going into a report ask for GRS certification, which audits the chain and states the figure.

- Recycled polyethylene terephthalate — polyester made from recovered PET plastic rather than new petroleum feedstock. The fibre is chemically the same as virgin polyester.
- Is recycled polyester as strong as virgin polyester?
- At the same denier and weave, yes. Mechanical recycling can slightly shorten fibres, but modern processing compensates and the finished fabric performs equivalently. Quality differences in promotional bags come from construction, not from the recycled input.
- How do I verify a recycled content claim?
- Ask for GRS or RCS certification. Both audit the chain of custody and issue a transaction certificate stating the recycled percentage. Without one, the figure is the supplier's own assertion — often accurate, never auditable.
