Cork Promotional Products

Cork is the closest thing to a genuinely regenerative material in promotional products. The bark is stripped from a living cork oak roughly every nine years, the tree seals itself and keeps growing, and a single tree is harvested for well over a century. The harvest is what keeps Mediterranean cork oak forests economically viable — buying cork supports the habitat rather than consuming it, which reverses the usual relationship.

Practically it is light, water-resistant, warm to the touch and takes laser engraving with excellent contrast. It suits journal covers, coasters, mouse mats and bag panels. Colour varies naturally between batches, which reads as character rather than a defect — but if you need exact consistency across a large run, say so up front.

Minimum around 50 pieces, production 5–12 business days. Rush production is available on many items in this range.

Frequently asked questions

Does harvesting cork harm the tree?
No. Only the outer bark is removed, by hand, on a roughly nine-year cycle; the tree regenerates it and continues to grow. A cork oak is typically harvested for more than a century, and stripped trees absorb more CO2 while regenerating bark.
Is cork durable enough for a journal cover?
Yes — it is water-resistant, does not crack the way coated paper does, and wears in rather than out. It picks up surface marks over time, which most people read as patina.
