It is structurally superior due to the intricate supporting tabs inserted two to each corner. This tray is finished with a food safe finish making it water proof and a breeze to clean. Bamboo grows fast, needs no replanting and little irrigation. The caveats are worth knowing: boards and utensils are strips glued together, so the adhesive is not bamboo, and bamboo fibre textiles are chemically processed viscose. Most of it ships from Asia, so freight offsets part of the gain.
